packaged loose in tubes or
plastic bags. The number of
beads in a hank will vary by
size of bead. The average number of hanks in a kilo are:
Size 10 - 20 hanks;
Size 11 - 24 hanks;
Size 12 - 28 hanks;
Size 13 - 34 hanks.
Average beads per hank for Czech Seed Beads are:
Size 10 = 3100 beads per hank.
Size 11 = 4000 beads per hank.
Size 12 = 4500 beads per hank.
Size 13 - 5000 beads per hank.
Average beads per hank for China Seed Beads are:
Size 10 = 4600 beads per hank.
For estimating beads needed on your beadwork project, the average number of beads per inch are:
Size 10 = 130 beads per square inch.
Size 11 = 187 beads per square inch.
Size 12 = 228 beads per square inch.
Size 13 = 273 beads per square inch.
To do the math, multiply the length and the width of the beadwork you plan, multiply that total by the number of beads per inch, divide that total by the number of beads per hank. Round up to the next full hank number. Out of that number, estimate the amount needed per color planned. |
